Swiss watchmaker hublot watches macy’s Replica are celebrating their continuing “HUBLOT LOVES ART” campaign by Dealing with road artists Hush and Tristan Eaton. The results of this collaboration are two new limited edition watches based loosely on the concepts of “Fame” and “Fortune,” as evidenced by Hollywood on America’s West Coast and Wall Street in New York’s Financial District respectively. Although Hush is in fact based in London, he’s known for his work with frescoes during Los Angeles, including regions of West Hollywood, Melrose, and Santa Monica. Thus, Eaton is representing America’s East Price with the Hublot Classic Fusion 45mm Chronograph East Coast Bronze, and specifically New York’s Financial District (linking to the “Fortune” motif). The bronze case is meant to symbolize the iconic Charging Bull sculpture on the bowling green of Lower Manhattan. This is Eaton’s second collaboration piece with Hublot, having previously designed the Classic Fusion Aerofusion Concrete Jungle watch for the brand in 2016.
After having been on the block since November 2016 with a reported asking price of SFr1 billion, Breitling has been acquired by CVC Capital Partners, valuing the watchmaker at over €800m (US$870m or SFr867m), according to Bloomberg.
Theodore Schneider, the multimillionaire who inherited the firm from his father Ernest, will participate in the buyout for a 20% stake in the brand best known for its Navitimer and Chronomat aviator’s chronographs. With Breitling changing hands, only a few significant family-owned watchmakers remain in Switzerland, amongst them Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet.
One of the biggest watchmakers in Switzerland that has long had John Travolta as its brand ambassador, Breitling reported sales of about SFr420m (US$424m) in 2016, and the new owners plan to grow that by focusing on the Chinese market. The transaction is expected to complete by June 2017.
